LG Electronics announced that the company will show their OLED TV 15EL9500 at the Gadget Show Live that is taking place in Birmingham, England, these days. The 15 inch OLED display of the 15EL9500 is deemed to be the world’s largest commercially available OLED set.

With the public presentation, LG aims at directly showing the benefits of OLED technology in image presentation to the customers. OLED’s major advantages over their LCD counterparts are an extremely fast response time of only 0.1 milliseconds and the nearly unlimited viewing angle.

LG's OLED TV 15EL9500 has a construction depth of only 3.2 millimetres and, despite the comparatively small screen diagonal of 15 inches, is said to offer a film experience above the ordinary (Photo: LG).

LG makes a pledge concerning the contrast ratio of 10,000,000 : 1, while power consumption shall be at moderate 40 Watts. Because of the OLED TV’s characteristic not to have an separate backlighting module, visitors at the Gadget Show Live can look forward to seeing incomparable vivid colours and the deepest of blacks, as well. The 15EL9500 will be in stores at the end of April at a price of approximately 1,999,00 Euros.
