Household device manufacturer Haier
has recently extended its portfolio with an LCD television. The 22-inch model is available in five colourful versions and should be suitable for use in children’s rooms and kitchens.
Its screen diagonal of 55 centimetres recommends the LT 22R3 for shorter viewing distances, e.g. in hotel rooms or as second models in private homes. In the sense of this area of application, the model does not have a Full-HD resolution, but achieves the HD level suitable for its size at 1,366 x 768 pixels, which is displayed in 16:9 format.
Not choosy as an image display partner – the connector talent LT22R3 (Picture: Haier).
Haier’s compact class offers image brightness of 300 cd/m2 and achieves a contrast ratio of 2,500:1. The display’s response time is indicated as 6.5 milliseconds and the viewing angle is 176 degrees horizontal and 176 vertical. The TN panel in the LT 22R3 has a colour depth of eight Bits and is – as indicated by the relatively high power consumption of 60 Watts– seemingly illuminated with cold cathode ray tubes. In standby mode, the power consumption is less than one Watt.
The range of features is strikingly goods for the small screen format: a wide range of external devices can be connected via HDMI, Euroscart, VGA and Component input – from set-top boxes to games consoles. The sound from the television is played back via two 2.5 Watt speakers. On the laptop side, sounds are transferred via PC Audio input and a headphone connection is also included.
The USB Port of the compact device is capable of playing back videos. And as well as a digital-terrestrial tuner, there is also a CI slot for Pay TV in the exterior of the LT 22R3. According to the manufacturer, there is no wall bracket, but a base is provided in the scope of supply.
The recommended retail price for the television is 329 Euro, and can be purchased from 222 Euro on mail order. Those buying the LT 22R3 can choose between the colour variants white or black, red orange and green.
