First presented in early November, the NEC EA273WM is the first of a new generation of MultiSync monitors. Unlike his predecessors, the Full HD displayprovides a visibly slimmer and lighter chassis, appearance which has already been awarded with the iF Design Award 2012. On its height-adjustable stand, the 27-inch wide panel can be rotated, tilted and operated in pivot mode.

Touch sensitive keypads in the narrow panel enclosure activate the newly designed on-screen menu and allows to switch between the four image inputs. In addition to VGA and DVI-D, users can also choose HDMI and DisplayPort as connections. A cable management system organizes the chords of multiple playback devices. In addition, the MultiSync EA273WM features discretely placed speakers, a headphone jack and a quad USB hub.

Although NEC uses a TN panel, the maximum viewing angles of the EA273WM are at 178 degrees. Reaction time (5 ms) and static contrast (1,000:1) are at standard level again, but due to the W-LED backlight, the light intensity of 300 cd/m2 is higher than usually in this category. Same applies to power consumption, which is at a maximum of 39 watts. However, sensors for ambient light and human activity in front of the display lower this value in daily operation.
The MultiSync EA273WM is available in early December for a suggested price of 480 Euros. More new EA models will be release in the following months.
