NECs release of the EA273WM heralds a new generation of MultiSync monitors. Unlike its predecessors, the Full HD monitor provides a visibly slimmer and lighter chassis. Additionally, the 27-inch panel sits on a height-adjustable stand that also provides turn and tilt functions as well as pivot mode.

Touch-sensitive controls in the narrow-panel enclosure operate the redesigned OSD and access a potent connection quartet: In addition to VGA and DVI-D, HDMI and DisplayPort are selectable as signal inputs. A cable management system organizes the chords of multiple playback devices. Furthermore, the MultiSync EA273WM comes with discretely placed speakers, headphone jack and a four-port USB hub.

Although NEC uses a TN panel, the maximum viewing angles of the EA273WM are at 178 degrees. Reaction time (5 ms) and a static contrast (1,000:1) are at standard level again, but due to the W-LED backlight, the light intensity of 300 cd/m2 is higher than usually in this category.
The same applies to the electricity consumption, which is at a maximum of 39 watts. However, sensors for ambient light and human activity in front of the display lower this value in daily operation. In the U.S., the MultiSync EA273WM is released in November for 499 USD.
