This tool is relied on in digital photography and image editing. With typical EIZO and powerful technological features, the CG223W shows colours just as they are captured by the camera. Even highly saturated green and cyan hues can be seen, since the model covers 95% percent of the AdobeRGB colour space. As well as its two DVI-I ports, it offers an advanced Display port connection, which allows for 10-Bit colour resolution. The screen even displays the smallest hue levels with its one billion colours. This is ideal, both for projecting faint images and for retouching. The advantage: there is no need for much time- and cost-intensive corrections.
The key for precise colour reproduction is the 16-Bit processing on the CG223W. Image signals are resolved with 1/65 thousandths precision and changed into RGB pixels. Especially in dark hues, colour nuances and the image structure are retained. Colour hues are not grouped. Together with the high bandwidth for brightness and contrast, bright and dark image content is reproduced as true to the original and differentiated.
For white balance and hardware calibration, the screen has its own 12-Bit 3D look-up table (LUT). The ColorNavigator software from the scope of supply of the CG223W accesses this LUT directly during calibration. Here, the user can determine the colour temperature, brightness, black value and hue curve freely according to his or her requirements. The calibration, which takes about five minutes, runs automatically. Therefore, there is no need for a technology specialist and the CG223W fits easily into the respective workflow.

For precise image reproduction, homogenous light density distribution and colour purity are very important. A special circuit, the Digital Uniformity Equalizer (DUE), therefore corrects imbalances in luminance and chrominance pixel by pixel. Colours in pictures and images are therefore displayed correctly in the centre as well as at the edges.
The price for the CG223W is about 950.00 €. EIZO will begin supplying the model in the middle of April 2010. A shade and DVI signal cable are part of the scope of supply. Measuring devices for calibration are available separately or in connection with a bundle deal for the screen.
