RONOL NAVI-Clean

The Navi-Clean cleaning set, which costs around € 7.50 when purchased from a retailer, consists of a 50 ml pump bottle and a small (20 x 18 cm) Vileda microfibre cloth. Although the contents are colourless, unlike the blue LCD screen cleaner liquid, the substances contained in both products are identical. We assume that the liquid for the NAVI-Clean product was not dyed blue and that the contents are otherwise identical.

Regardless of this, we were able to clean our TomTom Go 700 navigation device to a perfect, streak-free finish. Users who type on the touch screen a lot with their fingers will not be able to avoid cleaning the screen from time to time.

The Navi-Clean set fits easily into the glove compartment of a car and is therefore always at hand. However, the price is relatively high compared with the 250 ml bottle of Duo-Clean with a large Vileda microfibre cloth (40 x 38 cm) for around € 15.50. But who wants to drive around with a cleaning package this big? The cleaning material should be stored where it is needed.

The TomTom Go 700 navigation device could be cleaned to an ideal standard.

The individually packaged cleaning towels (moist and dry) represent a further alternative. A ten pack of these costs around € 7.50. This qualifies the price for the Navi-Clean sets, since it allows you to carry out much more cleaning and the Vileda microfibre cloth is perfect for buffing.

We would recommend a small storage box for the cloth and the bottle to ensure that the microfibre cloth does not get dirty from picking up dust or other particles from the glove compartment. Here, the cleaning cloths that are packages in twos have a certain advantage.

RONOL Cleaning Wipes

The following products were available for our test: dispenser box with 50 moist Premium towels (around € 8.50), dispenser box with 100 moist towels (around € 7.50), dispenser box 50 moist and 50 dry towels (around € 8.00) and cleaning towels packaged in pairs (moist and dry) in a ten pack (around € 7.50), which resemble refreshing wipes.

The Premium towels weigh 45 g/m² and the gauzy Standard towels weigh 22 g/m². Premium towels are so called because the towels are more absorbent because of their heavier weight and can therefore take in more liquid.

The moist Premium cleaning towels, which are soaked in a sufficient quantity of liquid, perform convincingly. The soft cloths are ideal for cleaning and remove dust and dirt well. One cloth was enough to clean a 42-inch panel (Toshiba 42X3030D). However, a second cloth was then needed to clean the high-gloss piano lacquer frame.

Although the gauzy, even see-through Standard cloths fulfil their purpose, they do not contain enough liquid to clean large surfaces. This means that a streak-free finish cannot be achieved. In order to achieve a perfect result, it is important to use enough liquid so as to ensure that the microfibre cloth that would be ideal used afterwards can absorb the excess liquid. If this has already mostly evaporated, even the microfibre cloth can do no more. And if you need two cloths for larger surfaces, you should simply opt for the Premium cloths. These are available together with a large microfibre cloth for around € 13.00.

LG KU990 mobile telephone with touch screen could be cleaned perfectly.

The advantage of the moist cleaning towels with regard to the spray pump is that the dirt is removed before the microfibre cloth is used for buffing. Thus, the microfiber cloth does not get dirty. If you spray on the liquid directly with the pump, you collect the dirt on the microfibre cloth and then use the same cloth to buff the screen.

Whether Premium or Standard quality, no Vlies cloth can compete with the perfect results of a microfibre cloth when used for buffing.

Although the dispenser box can be closed again once the vacuum seal has been broken, a small amount of the liquid evaporates anyway. This means that the degree of moisture in the cloths lessens from month to month. Users do not clean their monitors often should bear this in mind. 50 moist Premium cloths (€ 8.50) only cost slightly less than the 250 ml pump bottle of LCD Screen Cleaner (€ 10.00). Whilst you only get 50 applications out of the moist cloths, you can get many more out of the cleaning liquid.

In our opinion, the Premium twin-packed cleaning towels are particularly useful for mobile use. They can be stored for use when on the road without taking up much space. Whether it is in the glove compartment of your car, in your handbag, in your wallet, in your briefcase or in your laptop bag, you will always have space for these compact cloths.

What use is the nicest iPhone to you if greasy fingerprints can constantly be seen on the screen? But this product is also absolutely recommendable for all other mobile telephones, laptops or navigation devices. If costs about 75 cent to clean your device once – and that certainly cannot be too much for an optically perfect screen for your high-tech product.

For the cleaning wipes, we recommend the 50 moist Premium cloths together with a microfibre cloth. The cleaning cloths that are packaged in pairs (moist and dry) are suitable for mobile use.
